Will Niagara Falls erode and disappear in 100 years?
Niagara Falls has been slowly receding from erosion ever since it's initial existence. In an average year Niagara Falls recedes 1 foot per year but it used to recede 3 feet per year until the the hydro electric dam went in which changed the water flow rate over the falls. In the past 12,000 years the mighty Niagara Falls has moved 7 miles upstream. At the current rate of erosion it is predicted that Niagara Falls will last another 50,000 years before it disappears into Lake Erie and cease to exist.
