Are people allowed to swim under Niagara Falls?

The simple answer, no, if you want to live a long and happy life.! It is actually against the law and your chances of survival are extremely thin.

Niagara Falls is 170 feet high and the plunge pool at the bottom of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls is 180 feet deep.  The force of 2,580 tons of water every second lands at the bottom of the Candian Horseshoe Falls.  This natural water force has dug a "plunge pool" over 150 feet deep beneath the Horseshoe Falls.  The water at the bottom of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls is roiling in bubbles and water pressure from 18 stories above it making it dark as night with no idea of up or down.  The chances of survival are slim to none.  Be safe.
